herbs

I've been fighting a nasty cold/cough/sore throat for the past three weeks. I finally went to see an acupuncturist for a tune-up.

I love acupuncture...it totally mellows me out and puts me in the zen mindset.

The bad news is my acupuncturist told me I need to cut out the iced tea. AAAARRRRGGGHHHH! This is a problem, as I'm totally addicted to iced tea. Apparently it's too much cold yin energy, which is affecting the yang of my kidneys.

My chi is way out of balance man.

The good news is that I got this goody-bag to take home with me---full of Chinese herbs to boil into a tea.

I got my pagan on and brewed the herbs for about 20 minutes until it made two cups of tea.

I have no idea what I just drank. I thought it was going to taste nasty. (Especially as the acupuncturist warned me it was going to taste nasty.)

But it was good! It tasted kinda sweet, like licorice. And earthy, like mud.

And yes, I'm feeling better already.
